Community Voting for FOSSGIS 2021
For the first time, this year’s FOSSGIS 2021 (the conference for free and open software in the geoinformation sector & Openstreetmap in the DACH region) offers the opportunity to help shape the conference via anonymous online voting.
You can register to vote at the following link until **March 1, 2021: https://pretalx.com/fossgis2021/p/voting/signup/
(Original announcement from https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-at/2021-February/011143.html ):
Dear FOSSGIS enthusiasts,
the Call for Participation for FOSSGIS 2021 is closed. It can
already be revealed that there are many interesting submissions.
For the first time this year, a community vote (public
vote) will take place. The result will be included by the program committee as
an opinion from the community in the evaluation.
This is very easy:
1. Click on the link to register for the public vote: https://pretalx.com/fossgis2021/p/voting/signup/
2. You will receive an e-mail with your personal link to the public
vote
3. View and rate submissions; this can be done in stages.
Community voting is possible until 01. 03. 2021.
Many thanks to everyone who participates.
Kind regards
from the FOSSGIS 2021 program committee
on behalf of Astrid Emde

OpenStreetMap Foundation Survey 2021
The OSMF (OpenStreetMap Foundation) is providing a questionnaire about its past and future activities. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the direction of OSM with little effort. All mappers are invited to participate! The questionnaire is open for responses until Sunday, February 14, 2021.
There is even a German-language version available: https://osmf.limequery.org/281662?lang=de

First virtual OSM Austria Stammtisch on January 8, 2021
History will be made on Friday, January 8, 2021, when the first purely virtual OSM Stammtisch Austria takes place! From about 7:00 p.m., you can enter the https://senfcall.de room called “osm-stammtisch-austria” at the link https://lecture.senfcall.de/mar-s8m-i4l-77g.
The organization is done via the wiki page https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Austria/Stammtisch. Concrete topics are still being sought. If anyone would like to present an interesting project or other undertaking, please either enter it in the wiki, announce it on the mailing list or forum, or let me know. Of course, spontaneous topics are also welcome; after all, it’s a regulars’ table. ;-)

OSM Chat Austria
Short version: The chat can be reached at: https://webchat.oftc.net/?channels=osm-at or https://app.element.io/#/room/#osm-at:matrix.org
Original announcement: https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-at/2021-January/011011.html
Mapper stefanct has set up an IRC chat room for the Austrian OSM community! This can be accessed with any IRC chat program at irc://irc.oftc.net/osm-at. You can also join directly via a web browser by simply entering a username: https://webchat.oftc.net/?channels=osm-at
Mapper Negreheb has linked this IRC chat with the existing OSM Austria chat from Matrix, which can be accessed at https://matrix.to/#/#osm-at:matrix.org. This means that you can read and write via a web interface without having to install any software, using a Matrix web client (e.g. “Element”). The direct link for the “Element” interface is: https://app.element.io/#/room/#osm-at:matrix.org

OSMF Board Election 2020
Are you an OpenStreetMap Foundation member? Then you can (and should) still take part in the OSMF board election 2020 until Saturday (12.12.2020)! If you don’t know what the individual candidates stand for, you can read a Q&A of each candidate on this page: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Foundation/AGM20/Election_to_Board/Answers_and_manifestos
Every person entitled to vote should have received an email from the OSMF with the link to the vote.
